1st day

Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel. Check in. Overnight.

Day 2

2nd day

Breakfast. Check out. All day long Sofia city tour – National Historical Museum included. Enjoy the beauty, culture and history of the Bulgarian capital. Highlights: Alexander Nevsky Cathedral with the most valuable collection of Bulgarian icons; the Parliament building and Parliament Square; the National Archaeological Museum; the National Theater; the Russian Church; St. Sofia Church (6th c); St. George Rotunda (4th c); the National Palace of Culture. Visit of the National museum of history. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 3

3rd day

Breakfast. Departure to Rila Monastery – the biggest and most important monastery in Bulgaria. A tour of the monastery. Departure to Melnik. A tour to the town of Melnik. Melnik is the smallest town of Bulgaria, famous for its world-class wines, forteress-like houses and the pyramids of limestone and sand magnificently overlooking the town. An option for wine tasting at a tavern. Lunch. Visit the Rogen monastery. Departure to Sandanski. Check in. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 4

4th day

Breakfast. Check out. Departure to Bansko. Check in to the hotel. A walking tour of the town center. The town itself attracts visitors by its 120 cultural monuments, its museum-houses and the permanent ethnographic and Bansko School of icon painting exhibitions. A very interesting sight is the Holy Trinity Church with its 30m high bell tower and clock, splendid murals and woodcarvings. Lunch in traditional restaurant. The region is famous for its cuisine and colourful folklore and offers various entertainment opportunities. In the afternoon tour around Bansko. Dinner at a traditional tavern or in the hotel. Overnight.

5th day

Breakfast. Check out. Departure to Velingrad with narrow-gauge line. Check in to the hotel (SPA hotel). Velingrad is one of the biggest SPA resorts in the Rhodopes mountains, famous for its mineral springs, scenic nature and perfect conditions for recreation and balneotherapy. Lunch. Free time for a walk or SPA procedures. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 6

6th day

Breakfast. Check out. Departure to Plovdiv – the main city in Southern Bulgaria and cultural capital of Europe for 1999. Plovdiv hosts twice a year an International Fair, which is the most important business event in Bulgaria. Check in. Departure to the Bachkovo Monastery – the second largest monastery in Bulgaria and the most important in Central Southern Bulgaria. Lunch. A tour of the monastery. Departure to Asenova fortress. Departure to Plovdiv. Free time in Plovdiv for walking and shopping. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 7

7th day

Breakfast. A guided city tour of Plovdiv with lunch. Highlights: the Old Plodviv; Nedkovich House; Hindlian House; Balabanov House; the Roman Amphitheater, which is considered the very center of the city. Free time. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 8

8th day

Breakfast. Check out. Departure to the town of Kazanlak. Lunch. Departure to the Valley of Roses – a beautiful region famous for its annual rose festival and rose-picking. A tour of the Valley and the Thracian tombs and monuments. After that visit to top Shipka, historical monument. Departure to Triavna. Check in. Free time. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 9

9th day

Breakfast. The town of Tryavna has preserved its old town square, the only one left in the country, which has been proclaimed as a Monument of Architecture. Lunch. A tour of Triavna. Departure to the village of Bojenci. A tour of Bojenci. Departure to the town of Gabrovo. Visiting the house of humor and satire. A tour of Etara, ethnografical village-museum. Departure to the town of Triavna, Departure to the town of Drianovo. A tour of Drianovo and Drianovski monastery. Departure to the town of Veliko Tarnovo. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 10

10th day

Breakfast. A tour of Veliko Tarnovo, with lunch – the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, considered one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Highlights: the Tzarevetz Fortress with the Baldwin Tower and smaller churches; Trapezitza hill with several medieval churches; the historical city center. After the lunch tour to Arbanassi. Departure to the town of Pleven. Accommodation and dinner. Overnight.

Day 11

11th day

Breakfast. A tour of Pleven. Visit the Museum Panorama – Pleven Epopee 1877 - more commonly known as Pleven Panorama and that depicts the events of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-78, specifically the five-month Siege of Pleven which made the city internationally famous and which contributed to the Liberation of Bulgaria after five centuries of Ottoman rule. Lunch at a restaurant cave at the Kailaka national park. It is situated in an extremely beautiful natural canyon with lots of lakes surrounded by hotel complex, sports grounds and a zoo. Departure to the town of Sofia. Check in. A farewell dinner at a traditional Bulgarian restaurant. Overnight.

12th day

Breakfast. Check out. A couple of precious last moments in the Bulgarian capital for shopping and souvenirs. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
