DAY-3 Stockholm and the area
Breakfast. Free time in the city or additional excursion Drottningholm Castle - the Swedish Versailles. Overnight stay.
The stunning Drottningholm Palace is located on the island of Lovo, about 11 kilometers west of central Stockholm. It dates back to the 17th century, built for Queen Eleonora, and today is the active residence of the Royal Family of Sweden. In its beautiful park, full of space, air and greenery, there are paths of statues brought from Denmark and Bohemia as war trophies. In 1774, Drottningholm was given to Queen Louise Ulrike (Frederick the Great's sister) as a wedding gift and began its expansion with new wings, along with the China Pavilion. The China Pavilion is one of the most captivating buildings. Even looking at it from the outside is it's easy to imagine you're somewhere far east. And the rooms of this summer residence have their own different colors and elements. It's amazing to visit a place that has survived several fires and is still used for theater and opera plays like the Royal Theatre.. On the tour we will see what the theater culture was like before 300 years and we will see the scene change mechanisms (serving up to 30 different scenery and backgrounds), all the mechanics even still working. Return to Stockholm.
*The day of the excursion may be subject to change, according to the working hours of the castle and the possibility of visiting with a group.
